In Search of Paradise

“Life is a paradise for those who love many things with a passion.”
― Leo Buscaglia

This quote from Leo Buscaglia resonates deeply with me. Yes, indeed, I love many people and things with a tremendous zeal, enthusiasm, and passion. This brings to my mind so many beautiful landscapes, exotic foods and markets in far-away places, peaceful sanctuaries, a redwood forest, a prayer circle, ocean waves and mountain tops. Ah, I have experienced a great deal of ecstasy in my life and look forward to more. And the people. Oh, my, the fun, funny, loving, generous, devoted, strong, courageous people with whom I have spent time, I have truly been blessed.

Passion for many things is a true blessing. Your heart expands at the feel of a breeze, the rustling of leaves in the trees, the sight of a silver birch in all its magnificent glory, a seashell, and so many more exquisite blessings all around us. The sight of newly laundered sheets hanging on a clothesline, a person waving to me from their balcony as I walk by, the smell of a delicious meal simmering on the stove, hearing the whistle of a tea kettle, chimes from a nearby church, and sounds of a passing train are signs of life and a reason for celebration. I love them all, the extraordinary right along with the ordinary.

There are many people waiting to be in paradise one glorious day when their spirits leave their bodies.  I’m not waiting, I am in paradise now and I intend to stay that way.  With a passion for experiencing life in all its glorious offerings; joy, laughter, food, song, art, books, nature, and all life, I am passionate about living.  I think we can all learn to be passionate about life. Just give up your doom and gloom and experience joy. Take care and live completely.
