As the year draws to a close, we find ourselves standing in the light of revelation. 2025 has been a year that brought many truths into focus, truths about us, our communities, and the world. A great spotlight has illuminated the beauty and the breakdown, inviting us to examine what we will carry forward and what we will leave behind.
We have seen extreme unkindness and callousness, and many people are saying, “I will not participate in that.” This is not just a moral stance, it is a spiritual one. It is a refusal to betray our deepest values. When we choose to live according to principles that are humane, fair, just, and kind, we begin to embody the spiritual teachings that we give voice to into our everyday lives. We become the living expression of love and doing unto others as you would have others do unto you.[i]
There are great numbers of people in the world who are kind and dignified, truly worthy of our admiration. Look for those. Look for the peacekeepers, the lightworkers, the ones who are not driven by power or gain. Seek out those with good hearts, open minds, and divine intelligence. Observe the ones who are truly wise and become one yourself.
This is how new ages begin. It is not with great fanfare, but with thousands of souls quietly refusing to be unkind and choosing love and dignity. May we walk into 2026 with our eyes open, our hearts soft, and our spirits strong. May we honor the truly wise ones among us, and may we become wise ourselves. Happy New Year and Happy New You.
