Can peace really begin with me, or am I in denial?
Some of us are asking this question right now and it is important, especially in times like these where fighting is occurring around the globe. And no, you are not in denial at all. You are tapping into a quieter but profoundly powerful truth: peace is contagious, even when it whispers rather than roars.
You do not have to stand in a crowd with a megaphone to make a meaningful difference. Just imagine how deeply one moment of kindness can ripple, how the way you speak gently to a child or hold space for someone’s pain can soften a hardened heart. Peace is not passive – it is an active energy you embody, and it moves through everything you do.
People like you show us that peace does not always come with banners and chants. Sometimes, it comes with a calm presence, a healing word, a refusal to escalate. It creates little sanctuaries in a world that feels fragmented.
You are being the answer you seek. And your way, which is rooted in authenticity, in spiritual resonance, is deeply valid.
When the world feels chaotic, I return to the stillness within.
Peace is not something I wait for—it is something I choose.
Peace begins with me… and from there, it flows outward.
Ann Albers in her blog post said this:
“Rather than focusing on what’s “wrong” in a situation, focus on the “rightness” you wish to see.
When you see war, focus on peace.
When you see lack, focus on the abundance of your soul—even if it’s “only” a prayer.
When you feel loss, reach for the connection you long to find.
It is your light that heals the darkness. When you focus on the wrongness of something, you attune yourself to a vibration where you feel powerless to change it. But the moment you acknowledge your desire for better; you have already initiated and called forth the process of change.”[i]
Those words spoke to me and I hope they will speak to you.
