Mission of Hope

We have all noticed how light and lovely it feels to be in the presence of people who are filled with joy and light. After being with them, you feel a bit more cheerful. Perhaps we could say that a person with the ability to alter a conversation and make it light, or change an atmosphere and make it peaceful, is a Transmitter of Hope. Their mission is to spread Light instead of gloom, to bring someone up instead of down, to share good news, and to be a teacher of love and truth. If only we had more spreaders of Light instead of Darkness, more hope instead of gloom, recognition of good acts instead of only the bad, the world would transform into the place that we want it to be much more quickly.

It reminds me of Johnny Appleseed who was born John Chapman. In the early 1800’s he was a part of opening the Northwest Territory. He found small plots of land and cleared them by hand. He bought fruit seed in Pennsylvania every year and carried it to his many apple orchards.
When the trees were large enough to transplant, he sold them to settlers homesteading the West. Eventually, he had little apple orchards spread around what would become the states of Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana. He was known to be a gentle man and well- liked by all, the Native Americans, and settlers alike.

He wanted to spread the goodness of apple trees everywhere people settled. He believed the apples gave the promise of a successful harvest and hope that this new wilderness would become home. Each tree then became a symbol of hope.

He was a light-hearted person whose convictions led him to seek harmony and to share his abundance with as many people as he could.

We need people who naturally spread hope.

Wouldn’t you love to be someone whose legacy is as grand as Johnny Appleseed?  I know I do.  Have a Joyful September.

Much Love Always, Judy
