The Tree of Hollow Fruit

There are two trees growing in the garden of our human experience.

One is the Tree of God Consciousness. It’s branches are heavy with sweet, nourishing fruit. This fruit is filled with truth, love, compassion, wisdom, discernment, generosity and understanding. When we partake of it, we become those qualities. We feel full, grounded and whole.
The other is the Tree of Ego Consciousness. Its fruit is tempting but hollow. It always promises satisfaction but delivers only a deeper hunger for more. Instead of wholeness, we are filled with fear, greed, selfishness, hatred, resentment, retaliation, and the ego’s many insatiable needs.

When we eat from this tree, we are never filled and there will never be enough. It is a hunger without end.

But God Consciousness does not forbid us from choosing.

We are simply invited to choose wisely.

This morning, I clearly say my intention to choose the nourishment of truth, love, compassion, wisdom, discernment, generosity and understanding. I will therefore not be easily swayed by lesser emotions, thoughts and attributes.
