A Healthy Sense of Self-Worth

Last Sunday I spoke of how many people have issues with their self-worth. If you’re one of those who feel that you are less intelligent, less talented, less lovable, etc., you need to realize that no one is better than you, and no one is more deserving of goodness and success than you. How many times have you caved into life’s circumstances just because of your low self-esteem?

I’ve read and been told so many stories of people who were wounded in their early years. Perhaps parents put them down, other children or teachers, and after a while, you see a theme to these stories. A child may be a bit different, and they are taunted, teased, ridiculed, shamed, bullied, and perhaps beaten. They carry that shame with them into adulthood and cannot seem to get over their sense of worthlessness. But then, if they are willing and open, something occurs that convinces them to work on themselves and discover their innate worth that was there all along.

Paramhansa Yogananda said, “…you realize that all along there was something tremendous within you, and you did not know it.”

And from Alan Cohen: “If you know your true worth, you do not need anyone else to confirm it.

T.R. Sebastien said, “If you have a hard time believing in yourself, remember who you were before the world taught you to doubt yourself. Don’t see yourself through the eyes of those who didn’t see value in you. Know your worth even if they didn’t. All you need is already within you. You just have to dig deeply and find it.  You are beautiful and worthy, and you are one decision away from creating the life you’ve always dreamed of living.”

And here are suggested prayers/affirmations for the retrieval of TRUE SELF.

Dear Creator/God, I REAL-IZE (make REAL) my INNATE SELF that I have chosen to hide in order to simply survive. Some teachings say that this life is an illusion. Maybe it is but it feels awfully real to me. Everything I do or don’t do has consequences!  So, I intend to make this life REAL but also acknowledge that our REAL SELF is that of Spirit.

I RECOGNIZE (RE-COGNIZE – to Understand from a Higher Perspective) those things that were too difficult to previously SEE and FEEL.

I RECONNECT to my TRUE SELF that I have allowed to stay hidden.

I CLAIM my DIVINE WISDOM, DIVINITY, VALUE and WORTH and GIVE VOICE to MY TRUE SELF.

I RELEASE

I Hereby Lovingly Release Everything in MY LIFE that does not serve the Higher Good.

I AFFIRM:

There is no one more WORTHY than me.

There is no one CLOSER to the DIVINE than ME.

I have CHOSEN to come at this time and am waking to MY HIGHER SELF.

I AM HERE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD by ACCEPTING MY TRUE WORTH!

We are all just doing the best we can and sometimes serving as mirrors for each other as we follow the path homeward. May your path be filled with ease and grace. May your life be filled with love, laughter, and joy. May you always find peace and a sense of being enough wherever you go. Lovingly, Judy
